There’s something truly magical about weddings. I experienced this magic firsthand years ago when I had my own dream wedding at Disney World. Every detail was filled with thought, care, and meaning, and when the big day finally arrived, it was everything my husband and I had hoped for. What I wasn’t prepared for was the feeling that followed after it was all over—the post-wedding withdrawal.
After months of planning, dreaming, and living in the excitement of the wedding world, I found myself longing to stay connected to that feeling. I missed the romance, the happiness, and the profound sense of meaning that comes with witnessing two people pledge their lives to each other. I knew I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to weddings. That’s when I had an idea—what if I could still be part of the magic, but in a whole new way?
I reached out to our lovely wedding officiant, Katherine Imundi, and asked if she would be willing to show me the ropes, which she kindly did. I also completed training courses by Unboring Wedding to help me understand what it takes to craft and deliver a memorable ceremony. I became ordained, registered as a Florida notary, and launched Once Upon 2 Rings.
Becoming a wedding officiant felt like dancing into a dream. Every couple I work with reminds me why I love weddings. I get to hear their stories, help them express their love in their own unique way, and stand with them as they take one of the most meaningful steps in their lives. It’s an honor and a privilege, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Looking back, it makes perfect sense that I found my way here. As an author of magical romance novels, I’ve always been drawn to love stories and the way they shape our lives. Writing about love and now getting to witness it firsthand as an officiant has been the most natural and fulfilling transition. I get to bring a touch of magic to real-life love stories, making sure each ceremony is as enchanting and heartfelt as the ones I write about.
Now, when I think back to our Disney wedding, I smile knowing that it wasn’t just the start of our marriage—it was also the beginning of a new chapter in my professional life. One where I get to bring that same joy and magic to other couples, and help them create unforgettable moments of their own. If you’re looking for an officiant who truly understands how special this day is, I’d love to be a part of your love story.
